Threatened Miscarriage, need some words of encouragement.

So a few days ago i passed what appeared to be a tiny little bloodclot. Then yesterday I had some mild cramping. Im 11w3d today. I went into the er not really thinking anything of it because i havent had any regular or severe bleeding or cramping. Well they looked at everything and it turns out i have a slightly detached placenta. They diagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage. Aside from that, the baby appears to be ok. He's in the right spot and his heart is beating normally at 162. So I guess im just wondering, has anyone gone through anything similar and had a good outcome? Im so scared.   any words of encouragement would be welcome too. Thanks.

I haven't but wanted to say I am hoping for the best!

Did they put you on bedrest or pelvic rest?

i had the thing where it was detaching. and it went away by itself. now i have a daughter. rest and dont stress to much!! good luck

they put me on pelvic rest and said it was ok for me to still work.

a "threatened miscarriage" is pretty much any complications before the end of the first trimester. its just a term. dont worry about it. if they baby seems okay just relax and keep doing what you are doing for the baby.

Get lots of rest and keep yourself hydrated. I've had a miscarriage but mine was earlier, I never heard the heartbeat. I know there's one mom in our September thread that had a lot of bleeding and is doing better now. Part of her problem is that she has placenta previa where the placenta is right over the cervix. But she had lots of bleeding and was put on bed rest for 4 or 6 weeks and the placenta healed.

I'm sure everything will be fine! I had a placental abruption at 16 weeks and they said that both me and my daughter would probably die, she somehow managed to hang on till 38 weeks and I have a beautiful 5 month old daughter! I had had extremely heavy bleeding from 8 weeks on

I had bleeding and cramping with my son at 6 weeks and about 24 weeks, I didn't have a placental issue though. Both times it turned out to be nothing and my son was perfectly fine.
I don't want to get your hopes up but you definitely shouldn't lose all hope yet. I really hope everything is fine.

I went in yesterday for the same thing expect mine wasnt a clot, just a tiny bit. They diagnosed it as threatened miscarriage, but we heard a heart beat and my cervix is closed. I hope all is well with you! Good luck!!

I had bleeding at 12 weeks ( i think). It was dark blood then later that day it was bright red blood and alot of it. I went to the ER and they sent me home w/ papers that said Threatened Miscarriage also! I go to the doc next week and i pray they can find a heartbeat..im scared. I still am very sick, so i guess thats a good sign. When i went to the ER though the baby was fine , cervix was closed, and had a heartbeat of 159!! Good luc with everything !!

this happened to me when i was 11 weeks. to be quite honest it scared the shit out of me and i actually cried all night thinking the worst. In the morning i went to my doctor and everything was fine.now i am 16weeks. i know the experience is really scary but im sure everything will be just fine(:
