She also now has her first tooth (cut it on Christmas Eve) and has started walking as of Dec. 28th. She still is wobbly, but everyday takes more steps.

my 2nd son cut his first tooth the day he turned 5m old. He is nearly 8m old now and has 6 teeth! eek!

Yeah we are lucky on the lack of teeth, she has been teething for MONTHS though. Now the challenge of nursing manners starts. She is pretty good, but I am prepared for the biting stage, thankfully she hasn't started that yet.

It's a little better. He's not pooping more than 10x a day now. It's more like 5.

Congrats momma - LOVE the dimples!

My LO is 11 days old. I have been bf but he seems to have a issue with opening wide enough sometimes which causes him not to get enough and pinch down on my nipple. I also have oversupply and a fast letdown that causes him to choke and come off the breast often. I have sore, cracked nipples and him latching is painful. I have been taking 2 ibprophen a day and express breastmilk on them but would like to stop the ibprophen soon seeing as I've been on it since I had him via c section. My question is can I expect the soreness to go away soon?

Okay - several things here. If he isn't latched well, are you breaking suction with your finger, removing him & relatching as many times as it take to get him on there right? If not, make sure you do. Poor latch can lead to poor milk transfer, low supply & poor weight gain if left untreated. It also, very obviously, cause sore nips.  

2 Ibuprofen a day isn't a problem for 11 days or even longer if needed unless you have some underlying health issue. I broke my tailbone when I had #1 & ripped through my rectum. I took Ibu a lot longer than 2 weeks I can promise you.   Is it 2-800mg? You can always so over the counter motrin in lower dose...so try 400mg instead & see if that helps at all.

Beyond putting breastmilk on them, are you use lanolin or anything else?
Did you or baby take any antibiotics during or after labor?

Thank you! I use over the counter, 400 ibprophen. And I didn't get antibiotics that I know of. I alo use lanolin after the breastmilk.

Ibu is fine as long as you don't go over 2400mg per 24 hrs. So you can do 400 mg as often as every 6 hrs be fine.

I only asked about the antibiotics to rule out an increased risk of thrush which is a source for nipple pain.

If you have a lot of pain, you can pick up gel soothies as most big pharmacies. One pair lasts 72 hrs & they will feel amazing. ;)

I guess my hope is over time I won't have that pain when he first latches on. My nipples seem to be healing but it still makes me cringe when we first start. He is in the breast alot. He eats up to 18 times a day and uses me as a paci.

Supplements to boost milk production. .. Does any one use anything to porridge more milk. .. I picked up something called mothers love and another one. . Also are there things I should not do or eat that may allow milk production down?

yes, eventually it should get better and there should be no pain. usually sometime around 6-12 weeks pp if you don't have any other issues.

isn't your baby just a few weeks old?
what makes you think you don't have enough milk so far? it's probably still getting regulated.

Its not that I dont think I have enuf bc hes growing well, pooping well, peeing well but everyone talks about pumping after feeding. Not sure I have enuf for that. Wanna be able to build a good milk supply for when I return to work.
