congrats on the new addition   I didn't even realize you were still an active member let alone expecting! I remember you in my Yo-Landi and TKOM days

I follow Breast Is Best on FB and they said the same thing, that having him away for a weekend will mess with my supply, so much so that I may have to wean. His latch might be messed with as well. We're going to court in February so I'm going to bring some research with me against weekend visitation before a year.

I do give him access whenever he wants, he just lives two hours away so he can't get here as often as he'd like. He originally wanted it to start at 6 months but I think his mom talked to him because he said he'd go to 9 months. Plus he was a 35 week preemie so that brings a whole other world of its own.

I've heard that most judges won't force overnights before 1 year.

I`ve heard that as well, but mostly in the States, and I live in Ontario lol.

BF and preemie factor aside, I just don`t think he`ll be ready for that. I`ve been his only caregiver since he was born (minus the NICU nurses). He has trouble being away from me for a few hours. I don`t know what an entire weekend would do to him

In all honesty.. your ex would probably scrape through one night and drive him straight back, lmao.
We left DD with my mom for one night for my birthday when DD was 18m and despite knowing my mom well it was really rough and she woke up crying a lot.

And more recently, just before her 2nd birthday we went to Paris for 2 nights and she was pretty much fine, so you can see how much difference 6 months can make.

With the distance he would have him a whole weekend, not just one night, unfortunately.

My 6 year old has trouble sleeping away from home, even when I`m with her.

Oh I know, I meant that he wouldn't be able to hack a second night!

Thank you. In that case, let me introduce myself.

I'm Lupita. Just had my son 3 weeks ago, and my daughter is 5. I ebf her for 7 months, and mixed fed her for another 2.

I knew a lot about nursing with her, but it's been so long, and my son is a completely different nurser than she was.

Not to be nosey lol, but was there a reason why you started mixed feeding at 7 months? My DD is 7 months and has been breastfed (no bottles) until now. But I started working again last week and now she has about 4-5 bottles of formula a week because I don't even get 1/2 ounce when I pump.

Not atm. I just go through phases when I just want to quit for my own selfish reasons, so I'm hoping maybe if I had support from other mommas to keep at it, I'll continue nursing.

I was working and going to school. I'd come home at 3 am, be on the bus to school at 7, come home at 2:30, then be back at work at 6. I fell behind at school, and since I could take her with me, I was getting called out of class to nurse her too much. I regret giving her bottles while I was at school though. My supply dried up way too soon.

Do you nurse on both sides? When I would pump, I'd always do it while she was nursing since that triggered my let down. I'd get like 4 oz from one side every feeding.
