Quoting Rumpelstiltskin:" Yay me! We didn't supplement last night. Normally around 4 or 5 am Lucia refuses the boob and screams ... [snip!] ... till we give her a bottle... that didn't happen today, though! Wooo hooo! She ate every hour after 5am though... I'm tired."YAY! Sorry you are tired momma - once supply catches up she shouldn't wake every hour...i hope!
Quoting Sofia's Mummy♥:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Love Wedge +2:</b>" As long as Bub is nursing as much as he ... [snip!] ... NO!! Don't waste your time unless you're going to go back to work within 6 months and want to build up your freezer stash."I exclusively pumped for the first 8 weeks, it was exhausting! lol
Quoting Sofia's Mummy♥:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Love Wedge +2:</b>" I exclusively pumped for the first 8 weeks, ... [snip!] ... Put that pump in a cupboard, lady! Haha, you're awesome for sticking at it and getting baby latched! Seriously awesome!"Thank you!!
Quoting Sofia's Mummy♥:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Love Wedge +2:</b>" Thank you!! We've been EBF for 7 weeks ... [snip!] ... I bet it's so much easier than EPing, I hated pumping so much I only did it a couple of times, I had no real need to though!"Sooo much easier. I get way more sleep, too lol.
Quoting Mama❍Moon:" aww just ignore them. I've been trying to get my son to take a bottle but not because I want to stop ... [snip!] ... is best, no matter how many people don't support the idea or how difficult it gets, we are doing what is best for our LO's "Brooke is 9.5 months old and she took a bottle from 4-7 months and now she is refusing them again. I work 5+ hours a day and she still refuses them. So it is okay if you don't give a bottle sometimes they just don't take them. We are going to try giving her breast milk in her sippy while I am at work to see if she will take it that way. At 9.5 months she is still 95% exclusively breastfed. We offer solids throughout the day, but she doesn't eat them.
Quoting Love Wedge +2:" Thank you!! We've been EBF for 7 weeks now "
Quoting Love Wedge +2:" Thank you!! We've been EBF for 7 weeks now "YAY you! Hang up those horns girl! You never *have to* pump as long as you don't need the baby to take a bottle for any reason.
Quoting Lady Blumensh9:" Brooke is 9.5 months old and she took a bottle from 4-7 months and now she is refusing them again. I ... [snip!] ... that way. At 9.5 months she is still 95% exclusively breastfed. We offer solids throughout the day, but she doesn't eat them."I've always had better luck getting them to take milk from a straw. You plug the end of the straw while it is in liquid & then put the othe rend (still plugging it) in their mouth & le tit drain out. Do that several times & then stop releasing it & see if they will suck at that end a little & after about 8-10 times most babies have the idea of sucking the straw. And I don't mean 8-10 separate tries - I mean in one setting. I've never had a baby that I can't teach to drink from a straw in about 5 minutes....and I mean from 5 months old & up. Also mine did a bottle strike (my older one) when I worked & woudl go 7 hrs without any milk & then nurse all the res tof the time...and his weight gain never changed. It is called reverse cycling. It WILL impact how they sleep, as you won't get along stretch at night (they are doing their "long stretch" during the day. But it is one of those things that you just try to work with.
Quoting Rumpelstiltskin:" My boobs hurt so bad this morning. Lucia suckled all night long. My baby sucks! haha But, still going ... [snip!] ... strong with out any formula! Yay! And my breasts aren't cracked anymore or anything... I think we are going to make it! "
