re: Breastfeeding tips! & Top 10 BF problems solved!

I went to see a movie last night so I defrosted about 9 oz, cause I wasn't sure how much or how often my son would want. He only ate 3 so I ended up wasting 6 oz  

18 months of breastfeeding today!! AND no end in sight!  

Wow the nerve of my family. Most of my family never breast fed and when i was in the car with my brother and dad yesterday we were on the topic of breastfeeding and they basically told me that after a year they don't think i need to breastfeed anymore. That "It's bad for babies to take bottles after a year, so why breastfeed" I told them to look up the facts before they open their mouths. And they said well maybe its not a matter of facts as it is opinion that they didn't care what the dr says. I told them to keep their opinions to themselves, that i will breastfeed my child as long as i want.

I am so tired of getting judged by my family for my BF choice. I was also in my moms room BFing DS because she is so against me doing it in front of ppl. And hardly anybody was there so i didn't close the door and my mom actually got mad at me! I was like its my body, my baby, my boob i can feed him when and where i like that if she had a problem then she can walk away that is is natural.

Im so irritated right now. Everytime my kid gets sick my aunt automatically tells me to give him formula!!! She blames my breastmilk for making him sick. My sister is always saying smurf like "does he do anything but suck on your tits all day?!"I like seriously.

if it makes you feel better my own mother told me she thinks "I get off on it" the first time she said it I just looked at her and was speechless...now I tell her to stfu yes my mother but come on really I'm sorry the last thing I think about when I'm feeding my kid is sex or anything sexual, usually I'm thinking when can I have my boob back.

Hey Mama's! quick question. I pulled out some frozen milk that is dated 10\16 and it has a yellow color to it. None of the others around that date look like that. I havent let it thaw yet but was wondering if that means it is bad?

When I've had milk go bad I never had it change color, so I wouldn't think so,. many things can impact color that you eat even. That isn't one I am familiar with though... I will say I pumped while I worked for over a year & never had color indicate anything & saw it have lots of various hues in that time. When it was bad I could always smell it.

I have a 10 day old baby. she is fed on formula as well, because her jaundice and weight loss we needed to supplement. Anyways I have been having migraines. I also got them with my son but I thought I was just not getting enough sleep. But I have been able to rest more with her and I drink a goodamount of water. Is this normal? I quit BFing NY son cuz this problem. what should I do?

The initial weight loss? And they don't need formula for jaundice, just sunlight.

Migraines are often worsened by hormone changes. As your body regulates you may experience relief.

also, as previous post said, jaundice is not a reason to give formula.

and it is normal for baby to lose weight in the beginning. Especially if fluids were given during labor.

even the lactation consultant wanted me to do formula. I'd rather supplement then be in the hospital. I won't ask questions. Sorry.
