I was told both of those colors are normal.

My LO consistently spit up, but gained weight & was overall happy. it was normal for us

It is most likely just something you ate yesterday! Protiens from what we eat make it into breastmilk and can sometimes upset tummies

Bsby is EBF if baby only eats breastmilk.

we are in the light yellow - to light green range. It will vary it all really depends on how much of what was eaten. I know now that if he falls asleep on the boob he is more likely to have a green poop later because he just had a short drink of foremilk. The more he falls asleep the more green poops he gets. When he was younger and doing this more often I would squeeze my boobs while he slept so he would continue drinking for about 5-10 minutes of hindmilk.
Now personally he will get thick yellow poops if I eat a lot of ice cream. Pizza and eggs seems to make him more gassy and have more mucousy poops. But yes other things can make them gassy besides dairy, like cabbage, broccoli, onions, ect. but not every baby is the same of course. The pickles may have done it for you though! Caffeine does affect your supply so be careful to drink lots of water on top of any caffeinated drinks.
As far as spit up, we always have a bit of spit up.. sometimes right after a feeding, sometimes not until 15 minutes or more later. It's normal and as long as it's not projectile and baby is gaining well then it's fine.

If your milk is in then the colostrum is gone. But he's only five days old, most likely he is just falling asleep on the breast a lot and not drinking for long enough. When he gets more alert he should drink longer for you but in the meantime you can always compress your breasts after he's fallen asleep.

well he averages like 20 minnutes on each side! today we had a light green then a yellow stool but i just changed him and it was dark green but not runny. he is jaundice so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it..

Try feeding on one breast for a few feeds, the dark green poop could mean he's not getting quite enough of the fatty hindmilk. Is it frothy at all? It could be a dairy allergy, which would mean you cutting cows milk and it's products from your diet. Try the block feeding first though

question for you ladies. DS is 4 days old. he nurses really well, but i started pumping today for a few reasons. i had major issues from the beginning with my DD. i only pump after he feeds to make sure i get all the relief from my breast. but i just turned the pump on, and on the right side the milk was pink. i turned the pump off and pulled it away, and my nipple is bleeding. it doesnt hurt and it's not tender. is that milk still ok, and is it ok for him to nurse on this side, or do i need to wait until there is no more blood? BFing is completely new to me and i want to make it work this time, so sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

Stop pumping, you will create an overproduction.

I wouldn't give him the milk with the blood in it, not sure how long it would be good for you know? but it is ok to still nurse from that side. Was the blood from your nipple? Your LO may not be latching right. I've never heard of blood coming out of the boob, maybe if you had an infection but if you aren't feverish or anything then it's probably a latching issue. You will make more milk if you pump, especially if you pump after LO eats. Are you engorged is that why you are pumping?

Foremilk is usually from the get go to a few minutes after the letdown. The letdown is usually all foremilk.
