My daughter is almost 5 months old and breast fed when I'm with her and I pump at work. But just within the past few days she's has only ate in the morning on the breast. And the rest of her feeding she will not latch on When im with her. She screams her head off cause she's hungry so we give her a bottle of pumped milk.
My questions are why will she not take my breast. I know she gets it faster from a bottle. Second could she be weaning herself also. Third how can i get her to want to eat at my breasts.
Im a first time mom looking for answers. I seem to have a good supply also.

she might be at the age where it does take a little longer and she's just too distracted to want to nurse. Where do you nurse her? Try dimming the lights and laying down, putting on a fan or some soft noise might help.

Hi, my son is 11 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. I am a working mom so I pump for him while i'm at work and nurse when I am home. He has been gaining weight great since day one and majority of the time is happy content baby but I am starting to have concerns over his poop. It is not the normal yellow seedy poop that everyone relates to breastfed babies. It is a greenish/brown color and seedy. I keep reading about all the problems this could be related to but is there any way its normal?

My Pedi told me it was normal.

Colors to have concern over are really pale poo and red.

Can someone help me out please?? LO is almost a month old, EBF, and the past few days I've had problems with keeping her latched. She latches on really well, and it hardly hurts like it did at first, but after a little while of nursing, she'll pull off, or pull away while still latched on and yanks at my nipple. She'll get all frustrated, start whining... I don't know what to do.

I'll spend a few minutes relatching her, because she'll do this numerous times, but after that I try putting her on the other breast (she usually starts this whole thing after only minutes, 5 or ten, when normal feeding time ranges from 30-60 minutes), but she'll do it all over again on the other breast! And then after so many tries of relatching her, I'll just stop trying, but then she's not nearly full, and will start screaming, and then I'll just end up nursing her again in an hour :/

It probably hurts because she isnt latched right.

30 minutes, active. If it lasts for 60 minutes, it's because she starts falling asleep and I have to keep waking her up, so not completely active sucking time. And it doesn't hurt. It did at first because we weren't latching right, but we've gotten better, so it doesn't hurt now.

She's gagged once in a while during nursing, and i generally feel my letdown, because it's pretty uncomfortable. IDK if there's another letdown DURING the feeding that i don't feel. When she pulls off, I don't leak or anything... that kind of makes me feel like I'm empty already, but only after 5 or 10 minutes?

My son only nurses for about 3-5 minuets.

Your breast are never empty.

You do have a few let downs but generally only feel the first.

How often does he nurse? How old?

My son is 8 weeks. It varies, but he usually goes for 20 minutes. Then can be hungry an hour later sometimes.

Is that normal for him to do?

she might be needing a burp? If you do have a strong letdown, after the first few minutes if they can keep it down they'll most likely need a good burp and then you can put her back to the breast. If her latch is stronger now she may be getting more air during letdown.
