We're very much still nursing on demand. I say about ever 2-3 hours? Sometimes even 1-2 hours. So, no signs of weaning yet.. and I'm totally okay with that. Whenever he's ready <3

Wtg!! Happy Birthday too your little guy!

My baby is a little over 4.5 months old and I feel like I am losing my supply. She only takes 1 breast and has since she was 2 months old. So my left breast is dried up. Usually there is a noticeable size difference in my right and left breast (my boob with milk is usually around 2 cup sizes bigger) and lately they look the same. Baby wants breast more often which I know can just be a growth spurt.


My biggest thing she still wakes up at night for her feedings but refuses the breast. She will take 1 or 2 sucks and refuse. And my boob feels super soft and squishy almost like its empty? I try over and over for literally like an hour and she's wide awake but just won't take the boob. She acts like she wants it then I put it in her mouth and literally acts like when she sucks nothing comes out? My biggest worry is her wet diapers have been less frequent and when they are wet its a lot less pee than usual.


Ugh I really hope I'm not losing my supply   nothing has changed at all. She still only gets the breast no bottles. 2 or 3 times a week she will get rice cereal (due to acid reflux) but only a few spoon fulls and its after she has had the breast.


Is this normal? Please help!

how often does she nurse? how often do you offer the breast? it does sound like your supply has gone down. however, it might still be possible to get it back up.

Have you tried nursing in different positions? Around that age my LO started getting really distracted & we had to nurse in the bedroom, side lying. it was very frustrating, but it did pass.

are you offering a bottle? Baby may have gotten used to the faster flow. Maybe cut oit the bottle. use a spoon or syringe if you HAVE TO supplement.

lots of skin to skin. Baby wearing. Taking a bath together. E always nurses when we take a shower lol

That actually only lasted for like 2 days. Her wet diapers are back to normal and she still sometimes refuses to nurse 1 out of her 3 feedings at night, but all seems back to normal other than that.

Nope, no bottles here. That's the only way shell nurse too, on our sides in bed. She's always been fussy on which way she nurses, when she was a newb she would only nurse in the football hold, she's high maintenance lol.

That only lasted like 2 days she back to nursing normal now and her wet diapers are back to normal!

Now that I can finally nurse Liam without having to lay down I took full advantage of it. Feeding him at my familys cookout last weekend. It was a big deal for me since I am self conscious (even though I'm pretty sure no one saw anything.) and because some family members have voiced in the past that not covering up is an issue for them. There are still some family members and SOs family that I am not comfortable enough to do it around. It was just nice not to have to excuse myself and hide away in the house so I could lay down to feed him.  

Wonder how its gonna be when he is 1 since other family members told me its weird to BF past 1. I hope to BF till he is at least 2.

Awesome accomplishment! I have been nursing for 13 months now & still hide around SO's family. more so now due to a lack of support from them.
