have you heard of the fertility awareness method (temping and charting). it's very easy, very effective and free. That's what I use.

Is it normal/ok for my ebf 6 month old to still be eating about 2.5 ounces every 2.5-3 hours? My SO and his mom think she's eating too much since she eats so often but I don't think so since when I give her expressed milk she's never taken more than 3 ounces. They only have experience with formula fed babies and think she should be going longer between feedings and eating more at a time. Am I right when I tell them breastmilk digests faster so she eats a smaller amount but more often?

my daughter is a year old and still eats every 2-3 hours. It is perfectly normal!!! baby's are all different, and there is a wide range of normal for breastfed babies. They do not live on a 'schedule'!

Ok, that's what I figured. SO is always complaining that dd is too fat and that she eats too much. It's so annoying.

That's what I keep telling him. All his nieces and nephews are overweight and he thinks she's gonna be too. They were also formula fed and eat nothing but junk. They eat absolutely no fruits or veggies. It's sad. I was a huge baby but once I hit toddlerhood I thinned out and have been considered underweight since I was like 10. So I'm not worried in the least.

Ive posted this on a few different FB groups and cant seem to get an answer.

Can a 5-6 month old infant randomly start being sensitive toward dairy?

They say eczema is mostly caused by an intolerance to something, most say dairy.
My son never had issues till a few weeks ago, they tell me to cut dairy. Ive been eating dairy since he was born, could that really be it?

yes, that's true.

my first son ate every hour or two well past 12 months old and he was EBF for the first 12m.

I doubt he would suddenly develop an allergy he didn't have before. I would look into other things you are eating. had he started solids? that could be it too. sometimes they aren't ready yet.

could also be the detergent you are using.

look at any changes you've made in the past month.

Breadtfed babies follow a different curve. Usually they gain weight rapidly in the beginning, and then it slows drastically. Whereas formula fed babies continue to grow at the same rate. Formula feeding is linked to obesity, as is unhealthy eating habits   breastfeeding, even continuous on demand feeding is not linked to obesity. (& contining on a path on healthy eating)

Thats the thing, there arent changes.

No solids, hes not interested yet.

Change detergent to free and clear, still the same skin issue.

The only change is hes be having green poo. He will poop green, then normal, then green. It goes back and forth.

Thats what they are thinking, taking him to the dr today. We had a few appointments in the past but car issues and car seat troubles stopped us form going.

So its not for sure but i was just wondering.

sometimes it could be just one tiny change that you didn't even realize. like once, I bought a bread spread that we hadn't eaten before and LO didn't agree with it (I was BFing) and another time we ordered a pizza from a place we hadn't ordered before and also had a sensitivity. Another time, it was because we were at MILs and she washed his clothes in her detergent instead of ours. little things like that, that you don't always catch.

Eczema is often linked to a food allergy, commonly dairy. Try cutting dairy from your diet (eggs should be fine, and you can sub goats milk, almond milk for cows milk).
