I'm having latching problems. I try to get DD to latch correctly but she keeps managing to suck on the top tip of nipple. It's soo painful.

Have you tried squeezing you areola together before she latches? My lactation nurse call it like sandwhiching the nipple then your DD will get a deeper latch. I didn't know to do that I was just holding my boob in place at first, that really helped us in the beginning!

My dd just got her 2 bottom teeth this past month. Now everyone is telling me when she gets her top ones it's gonna hurt my nipples to nurse her and that she'll bite me. I haven't even noticed any difference in her nursing since she's had her bottom ones. Is there any truth in this? Have any of you nursed babies with teeth and they never bit you?

It took about 2 weeks for her latch to adjust with the first 2 top teeth... placing a pillow under her to raise her up really helped. I will admit, it was HORRIBLE & they left indentations in my boob. but we suffered through & she has 8 teeth now, no issues. She sometimes bites when teething, & I just offer her a teething toy.

I also know many women who have had NO.ISSUE at all with teeth coming in. I wouldn't worry too much & just go.with the flow, it'll be ok

Hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones! I'm so not looking forward to nipple pain again. The first 2 months were AWFUL for me. And then I got plugged ducts...Then thrush. Lol. I'm enjoying my pain free nursing.

Yikes. My DD nurses every 2 to 3 hrs at 15 months and I thought that as a lot still.

Having flat nipples sucks >_< They weren't flat before I was pregnant! I gave birth on Wednesday and I hope my milk comes in soon so maybe it'll get easier cuz latching is so tough, even with the suggestions the LCs at the hospital gave me.

I need suggestions for a cough medicine that is safe when breastfeeding. My throat is so sore when I cough so I try not to, but then I lose my voice. Plus I don't want my kiddos to get it! I'd rather have it for a month then my kids catch it.

I have a very good recipe for an amazing home remedy that me and SO have been using for cough and congestion.

I use fresh ginger slices instead of ground. And just take it every few hours as needed.

Echinacea tablets or Elderberry Syrup, herbal remedies that are great.
My SO likes to steep honey, fresh lemon slices, fresh chili pepper, a bit of garlic and some fresh ginger slices in boiling water, strain and drink. It works for his colds.

My son will be 2 soon and I've been on the mini pill since my 6 week check up. I've heard it's less effective depending on how often your LO nurses etc. Well, my 23 month old still nurses ever 1-2 hours, and we take extra precautions. But I was also informed that after 18 months it's less effective because I've been on it for so long? What other options do I have? I plan to breastfeed after his 2nd birthday that's coming up in 3 weeks.
