The Ob can if you are already due to see him/her, but generally you can see an LC or your reg Dr about it. Personally, I use natural treatment as the only thing they usually prescribe is Nystatin & I don't think it is the most effective or fastest remedy.

Quoting Bubble Bum:" No its just the nipple just on the left side though..."
Check the tip of the nuipple & see if you have a small white bump. It sounds a lot like a nipple bleb & they were common to me only at the end of my pregnancy. If you see a small bump, put a hot compress over the nipple & use a very very clean needle (I held mine with tweezer & put it to flame for 30 seconds, then allowed it to cool) and then scrape acrooss the skin to allow the white bump to pop out. OBVIOUSLY use caution & do no tpoke at it, you just want to break the skin. A small amount of milk can become trapped under the skin & then harden & form a bump. If it does, it will act very much like you are describing. IF there is no bump, let me know, it should be visible if it is there, but it is not always obvious if you aren't looking for it. *some* get quite big, but most are tiny - like a paper cut in that it is usually really small but massively more painful than you'd think it should be.

For sure. You can do lanolin again to help it heal. You can also take a read through here: http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/nipplehealing/
For tips on speeding healing & reducing tenderness.

Yogurt being the natural treatment? What if he gets symtoms? Any suggestions would be helpful. I have a 4 week pp appointment Friday. It hasn't been as bad today.

Is there such a thing as watery milk?

My mom commented that Bub's spit up has been clearer than usual and wondered if maybe he's getting quantity but not quality, if that makes sense.

If you are before the point of actually seeing signs yogurt/probiotics can typically fend it off. If you are already into seeing cracking, hazing of the nipple, shiny spots, etc & baby is symptomatic, then other more aggressive natural treatments are needed.

There shouldn't be. With age in generally grows thicker. Maybe your LO is outgrowing some of that refluxing.

Help.   ds is almost 3 months. Bf'ing has been going really well, even sincr I returned to work full time. But today has been a nightmare. He hasn't latched all day. He just screams his head off. I tried to nurse him for 30 minutes to nurse him during my lunch break and it was miserable. All night we've tried and absolutely nothing. I finally caved and gave him a bottle of milk I pumped earlier. I don't know what to do. We don't do pumped milk at home, only at daycare. Is this just a phase? Will he go back to normal soon?

We got up to 9 feeds yesterday

Also, a question. Is EBF defined as just using the breast, or is it the breastmilk in general?

Because I exclusively pumped for almost 8 weeks before we were able to BF, so I've been going by that date and not the day he was born.

You can define what EBF means to you   if baby has had breastmilk only, from breast or bottle or spoon or syringe- maybe that is your definition of EBF
For me- I chose to never introduce a bottle (breastfeeding started out well & we opted for me to stay home, etc) so EBF in my current situation means breastmilk only from my breast

The WHO defines EBF as

Just keep offering, ,hopefully your lo will latch on again soon. Mine would never take a bottle so I don't have any direct experience with that issue.
