Delayed Vaxing...

posted 22nd Feb '10
Mason has so far gotten all of his regular shots. I researched the issue before he was born and decided vaccinating would be what is best for him. Lately I have been reading and am not so sure. We don't want to continue getting his shots until we make a definite decision.

I am wondering, is there an age limit on the shots? For example, we are thinking of homeschooling and not putting him in daycare, that would be a big factor as to him getting shots or not. If we DO put him in public school or a daycare, can he get his shots later, say, 5 years old???? Is there an age cap, basically?

And will it cause any harm if he does not continue with the shots he has already gotten? They come in a few doses, and he has only had 2 of his that are supposed to be continued at his 6 month appointment.

Really what we want to do is delay them all and IF he does go to public school or daycare then get them at that point. Make sense?

My new reasoning is that there is a higher risk of him having a serious reaction to the shots, than there is of him getting the disease in the first place. If he goes to public school, that risk of getting the disease or illness increases and also puts other children at risk of getting something he may have if he is not vaxxed.

There is a catch up schedule for children going to school who don't have all their shots.

Ok good to know. I could ask his Dr but I know they will persuade me into making the decision to vaccinate right then and there on schedule and I want to be armed with info

Basically if you don't get the 6 months shots your LO isn't completely vaccinated against the viruses that he received the first two series on.

You should seriously talk all this over with a Dr. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Another thing is that I read all these stories of parents whose children were reaching milestones until the got a certian set of shots and after that they completely stopped. Like, they were talking in sentences and then stopped talking, and I was just thinking today that Mason was rolling both ways at his 4 month appt and got his shots and now at 5 and a half months he cant roll belly to back.

Seems like you are under BG influence.

How can people possibly pin point something to vaccinations when there is no factual proof? Think about it. You seriously need to speak with a health professional, a few different ones and get medical facts from both sides of the spectrum.

I will, I just hear a lot of stories and they are so scary. I would never forgive myself if something happened to him, but then again if I made the decision not to get his shots and he got a disease I would never forgive myself either.

Absolutely. Some people weigh the benefits vs risks. There are tons of scary stories on BG, some may be true and some may be untrue as it is hard to tell if someone is being biased on the matter. So, do your own research apart from BG and you'll be better off.

ok

i know exactly how you feel.

leif isn't in day care and doesn't need it.

you can also get an exemption from vacs for religeous reasons

you don't HAVE to get them done

however most likely not for sure if your son hasn't had that bad of a reaction he mostly likely won't

personally since lief is probably going to alternative school were attendance is like 2 or 1 day a week. an hes not going to day care any time soon i havn't given him his shots. he had one when he was born and i regret it

How so? This is what I said "You seriously need to speak with a health professional, a few different ones and get medical facts from both sides of the spectrum"

-Both sides meaning, pro and con. Now, try again with something a little more complex besidesthe lack of reading and comprehension.

heres the CON since you don't understand what a billion dollar seasonal business this is.

it's literally a con

o so i guess delaying vacs because combing the ingredients interfere with each other.................... isn't the other side of the spectrum then.

you don't know the other side of the spectrum little girl....
you take some docs word for it because he needs your insurance company to pay for his clinics mortgage and supplies. when he himself doesn't even know the long term affects of the new vacs they are putting into your children.

seriously grow up .....read what they are injecting into your children.

sounds like your comprehension skills are seriously lacking intelligence.

just go jump off a cliff because your friends are too

do you realize how much money they make off one shot 200-300$ per shot.....

They dont ever have to have their shots if you dont want them to.

She will be going to school and still wont have any.

Wait, seriously? You don't know what I choose for my son whether I vaccinate, don't vaccinate or delay so, how could you possibly think you have any sort of judgement against me for what I personally choose to do especially since I never stated it on this thread? I have not advised her neither here nor there. I would never do that since it is a personal choice. But people like you would never, ever understand that. In your world it is okay to be judgemental and tell people what to do but that just proves your maturity as does your barely legibleposts.

So, what else do you have? You've gotta try harder than that to keep up with me. With your rambling I honestly think you are not at a level playing field so I am entertained by this little conversation rather than challenged. That translates into BORING. *yawn*

you should research all the ingredients and what the ingredients are proven to do to the body/ brain.
take your life style in to consideration before you decide to delay or not vax, like do you travel out of the country alot , does anyone in your home work in the medical field? that would make it a higher chance of lo getting a desease.
also research the actual diseases and how easily they are treatable now.

to go to a public school or daycare your child DOES NOT have to have shots. in every state there are exemptions, look your state up to see which ones you have.
also dont let your pedi push you into anything , you TELL him /her you've decided to delay and then let that be that, if he tries forcing you into something simply walk out.

imo it's best to delay if you are going to vax. it's best to wait and know any allergies your child might have.

and your child isn't going to put any children at risk if they are vaxed!! ! right??
i dont see why vaxing momma always bring that up , maybe they're not confident in their magic shots! lol

anyways momma research alot and good luck
