A few of us (off hand that I know of) are taking phentermine to jump start our weight loss goals.

So this thread is for you girls. Pretty informal. Post questions, comments, recipes, vents, exercise tips, whatever you'd like!

Leave your name and I will add you to the OP.

I am Kelli. My target weight loss is 50 lbs (but I'm more than happy with 35lbs). I don't intend to lose all the weight with phentermine. I'm just wanting the boost. I started this week.

Prescription diet pills are intended for use by people whose BMI exceeds 30 and are therefore classed as obese. People that have a BMI of 27 or greater and that also suffer from associated risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes or hyperlipidemia are also often deemed suitable candidates for phentermine.

It is true that prescription diet pills, like all other medications can cause side effects, however when someone is prescribed a diet pill such as phentermine it is because your doctor feels that the benefits of losing weight to reach a healthy BMI outweigh the possible side effects.
The side effects of phentermine diet pills will vary from person to person, some people experience little to no side effects whilst using phentermine.More detailed information on possible side effects can be found here.
Those who do initially experience side effects find that they lessen after the first few days of taking the phentermine diet pills as their body becomes accustomed to them. If whilst taking phentermine diet pills you experience chest pains, difficulty in breathing, fainting, swelling of the feet or lower legs or feel concerned about a possible side effect consult your doctor immediately.
Phentermine diet pills have been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for short term use of no longer than three months. This means that the FDA have found phentermine to be a safe and effective obesity management aid. Phentermine should be taken exactly as your doctor prescribed them to you.

Hello

I'm Mandi and I'm in my second month of Adipex. My goal weight loss is 50 lbs. Thus far I've lost almost 20. I haven't decided if I'm going to go with the third month yet or not, it just depends on how the next two weeks go

My name is Heather. My goal weight loss is 50lbs. I've been on Phentermine for about a month now. I've lost a total of 20lbs and 14inches off my waist line. I'm starting to notice a difference and I'm feeling better about myself now. I'm not eating a whole lot, I'm exercising every day, and just trying to stay busy. With having 3 kids close in age It's not hard to do.

No anal leakage! (Not for me at least) lol

Like I said before it makes me feel a little jittery, but nothing too awful. I still have a desire to eat, but most of the time I go to pick the food up, look at it, and put it back down. It's cut down a lot on mindless eating.

And I am sure your doctor would approve. It's intended for those classified as obese. (Sorry I hate that word, but I am!)

If your doctor doesn't prescribe diet pills (my last one refused) then you can go to a weight loss clinic and get the prescription there. The clinic is pretty expensive but the actual prescription is pretty cheap.

Jade... did you go through Tricare? How did you do it? Referral? Or did your PCM prescribe it?

I am enlisting reserves, and have 35 pounds to go before they will even talk to me. =/ And, thats MAX weight with NO leeway. (Im 5'10".. and I "should" be 174, max. Im 210 now)

According to my basic BMI (only taking into consideration height and weight)... I am 30.13.

How would I go about seeing if this is right for me? ***and nursing is stopping soon. We are weaned to nights only. Full weaned prob on her 1st birthday***

I don't know anything about tricare but if your doctor won't do it because of personal stance you can search google for doctors that will.

True.
My personal doctor wouldn't do it for me. BUT I am literally obese based on my BMI, so I am not sure why she didn't.

I went to a weight loss clinic.

Don't go through tricare if your going reserves, it makes you a cardiac risk for 12 months after your last dose. AF people cannot re-enlist within 12 months of taking it.

I went through them:http://www.centerformedicalweightloss.com/I'll know everything by Tuesday   its a 19.00 to have the visit and whatever meds cost.
I'm still considering going into another branch as reserve and I did not want that on my tricare stuff.
