I had a one it was my very first pregnancy when I was 16. Luckly I did not lose my tube but the Dr.'s seemed think that I needed to wait for quite some time before getting pregnant again. Well I lost my baby in August and I found out that I was pregnant with my son in Dec. He is a very health 7 year old and other than having placenta previa my pregnancy was great. I am now 31.3 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and I have had a few things go wrong but for the most part pretty text book pregnancy.

I went through the same situation in May. I was almost 6 and a half weeks pregnant and started having awful pain on my left side. After a few days of tests and ultrasounds, they decided it was an ectopic. I was heartbroken. I went in for surgery and had the pregnancy and my left tube removed. My doc told me that everything looked good on the right side. He said that I didn't need to wait to start trying again. I had a period about 4 weeks after surgery. We conceived again the first month!! Everything looks good so far. I am 10 weeks along. I have had to go in for a lot of ultrasounds and tests. It was very scary. I didn't and still don't understand how it happened. I have a happy healthy 15 month old son. I still get sad when I think about it. I am just thankful that this pregnancy is going well. Keep your head up and if you have any other questions, feel free to PM me.

Hey hun *hugs*
I had an ectopic last fall, though they told me I had miscarried at 6 weeks. At 10 weeks I was in emerg surgery, and same as you, had to have my right tube removed due to extensive damage. They stitched the ovary and left it in place "in case I ever needed it" >_>
I fought what I suppose would be depression for months afterwards, I had a hard time dealing, and a hard time believing I would ever have a baby.
The thing that I eventually had to do, after being told as much by my doctors, husband and friends, was to be optimistic and just go with the flow. The stress of feeling you are not capable on top of wanting a baby so badly tends to result in sex for the purpose of conceiving and makes you so tense that it makes it way harder to conceive. And you don't even realize you are doing it to yourself.
I finally got my head together in June of this year (gee only took me 8 months XD I feel like a dunce a bit now...) And went with the flow. Enjoyed life, told myself if I got pregnant, I got pregnant, if I didn't it would happen eventually.
Sure enough, I started feeling like crap in July and took a test XD I am now almost 11 weeks in, so I am passed the point of the ectopic, and almost done my first trimester
The biggest thing for you is while you will grieve, don't let it become your life or consume you Try to be optimistic, even though at times it may seem tough

First off I want to say I'm so sorry. I hope everything works out for you in only the best way. You are in my prayers.
I have a question though about Ectopic Pregnancies.
I have not been to the doctor during this pregnancy because I just recently got on my Medicaid. I have not had any serious pains like you all have been discribing but I have had mild menstral cramps sometimes slight sharp pains but nothing too unbearable. I had my last period back in April which would make me in my 20th week. I was wondering if there was a point in the pregnancy that once you pass it your safe. My stomach has also been growing like the other girls on here, just around my belly button. I was just wondering if anyone thinks I should be worried?

Hi there,
I just had an ectopic pregnancy, when I was about 7-8 weeks pregnant. The surgery took place last Friday (Aug-31-07). They were able to save my tube.
About a 2 weeks before, I started to spot (light and brown), and since I was schedule to be travelling for work, I decided to have this checked, even if nurses so far told me to rest, that it was probably nothing. The doctor I met then took this seriously, and I was scheduled for an ultrasound, 2 days later. This ultrasound only demonstrated that my uterus was empty.
I met with my OBGYN (she works at the same hospital), and she send me for additionnal blood test, since the hormones level were high (>18000 HcG). She call me home the same day, as the hormones were increasing, showing that the pregnancy was still eveolving, but somewhere else. I was rushed into the hospital, to get a methotrexate shot. It was supposed to be the end of it.
Unfortunately, 2 days later, I had a HUGE cramp, sweeting, short of breath, my husband took me to the hospital. Hormone level were still going up, I had another ultrasound, and we then locate the ectopic pregnancy in the left tube, it was 1.6 inche. I was scheduled for the surgery.
I'm recovering since. However, I was surprised that nobody warn me about the vaginal losses that followed the procedure. I passed large tissue, along with some bleeding. Passing this was giving me cramps, similar to period, and lasted about 6 days. I'll have a follow blood check in a couple of weeks, to insure the hormone level is going down. I've been advised to not have sexual intercourse, use tampon or insert anything untill completely heeled.
According to the doctor, I should wait at least 2 cycles prior trying again. I will need to be closely monitored, as I'm now at a higher risk to experiment another ectopic pregnancy. The cause is unknown.
Hopefully this sharing will help you or other to find out what to face. Hope everything will be fine for you.
