The last two advanced features are going to be grouped together for simplicity since they're part and parcel of the same functionality.

Once you've reached Moderator Status, you'll have the ability to:

1) vote to hide posts flagged as abusive by the OP of any topic

2) vote to block repeat offenders from topics as flagged by the OP, which may lead to that person being suspended from posting anywhere on the site for two weeks, if they're being flagged in other topics or w/in a certain time frame.

Now, onto SuperMod Status:

After you get the necessary points, in order to activate your SM status, you'll first need a respectable moderation history and experience (thus far we've defined that as having moderated at least 10 posts correctly, which means your votes were part of the majority that won the vote) and for those much-loved members that were the original six site moderators (Mellie, God, Melis, & Gina-- i think no one else is still active, not a bad retention rate, eh?), you'll be able to:

1) flag ANY post as abusive in any thread for review and potential removal by the moderators. obviously, this carries the added responsibility of potentially suspending more accounts than anyone else would ever be able to do previously, so if a super-mod starts flagging in an abusive manner, their super-mod status will be suspended or revoked, depending on the situation.

Do those count towards the 10 we have to have before SM status? And I still have to get SM points, right?

Yes, if you're already an established moderator when you reach SM you'll be an SM instantly.
