outie belly button

does anyone have a LO with an outie and if so how is it supposed to look? cause my sons looks like a second penis i have pictures if you wanna see but weird thing is i have an outie too i wonder if its genetics

Post pictures.Penis? Never heard of one looking like that. My LO's is a small outie just looks like a small bump. nothing really noticeable.

Is it herniated? Gabe's was for a while, and it stuck out really far. It's fine now, though.

That's what Gabriel's looked like.

If it persists longer than a year, they can do surgery, but it will likely go away on its own.

k did it happen because his cord fell off too early? it fell off like 4 days after he was born and the dr put silver nitrate to keep it from getting infected

My son also had an umbilical hernia when he was a newborn... it went away around 8MO and now, at 15MO,it's literally like a super tiny outtie "button"   maybe the size of a pencil eraser? Doesn't protrude out anymore either. It's adorable, I love it, and his own little perk.


If you're worried as if it's causing him discomfort, swells, or becomes discolored... I'd take him into your Pediatrician.

is it full of fluid, and can you poke it in? If it's not hard, then it's a hernia. They're really common.
